Product Overview

2198-H025-ERS2 is a 480V 3.2kW-rated Kinetix 5500 servo drive with dual-port EtherNet/IP implementing ODVA CIP Motion over Device Level Ring network. Its 25A continuous/50A peak current drives MPL, MPM, MPS, MPF, or LD-Series rotary/linear motors with 32-bit absolute multi-turn Hiperface DSL encoder feedback. Three-channel hardware STO input with category 3 / PL e / SIL CL 3 certification directly interfaces to GuardLogix 5580/5380 Compact GuardLogix CIP Safety controllers. The Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) function available via GuardLogix firmware enables safe reduced speed operation without dropping high-voltage output. Tuning is done automatically inside Studio 5000 Logix Designer v33+ with Load Observer, Inertia Identification, and Adaptive Tuning tabs, enabling engineers to achieve stable bandwidths within minutes. Power sharing DC bus connections between multiple K5500 drives in multi-axis machine cells reduce brake energy dissipation to heat sinks and cut cabinet energy use.
